Starting January 1, 2026, our method of calculating medical charges for patients who are not enrolled in Japan's public health insurance system will change.
Japan has a universal public health insurance system that covers all eligible citizens and residents. Individuals enrolled in this system pay monthly insurance premiums, and a portion of their medical expenses is covered through the insurance system, reducing the amount they pay at medical institutions.
Patients who are not enrolled in Japanese public health insurance, regardless of nationality, are not eligible for these insurance benefits and are therefore responsible for the full cost of their medical care.
Accordingly, our hospital will calculate medical charges at 20 yen per medical fee point based on the fee schedule established under Japan's public health insurance system.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.
